“Humor in Our Lives”
Brian Crane, Creator of Pickles
Brian Crane, a BYU graduate, created his comic strip featuring the Pickles family after having worked for advertising agencies for 17 years. He submitted his work to three syndications, and after being turned down by all, his wife, Diana, suggested that he submit it to the Washington Posts Writers Group. They accepted the strip, and on April 1, 2010, he celebrated his 20th year as one of the Washington Post’s most popular syndicated cartoonists. Using a Power Point presentation on our big screen, he will shaow how he gets ideas and a behind-the-scenes look at his work in progress with many illustrations and examples. The program will be of particular interest to adults and older children who enjoy the comics or are curious about the art of cartooning.
